A Memorial Event to Commemorate Caleb Owen Clifford - Jones

A Memorial Event to Commemorate Caleb Owen Clifford - Jones, to be held on November 15 2025.

We gather at Corroboree Park Hall, a place filled with treasured memories for our family, to honour and celebrate the life of Caleb Owen Clifford-Jones. Caleb, who left us far too soon at just 21 years old in 2020, brought love, laughter, and energy to everyone who knew him.

Corroboree Park holds a special place in our hearts. It was the backdrop to family events, community moments, and milestones like Caleb and Dindi’s 9th and 10th birthdays. It is only fitting that we come together here to share stories, remember his spirit, and find comfort in one another.

Caleb died in the middle of the COVID Pandemic. This prevented many of his friends, fellow students, teachers and acqauiantances from being able to attend his funeral.

We are now creating the opportunity for all who knew him to come together to celebrate this beautiful young man and his life.

The event will be held at Corroboree Park in Ainslie, Canberra from 1-5pm

There will be an Acknowledgement of Country, A Smoking Ceremony, Guest Speakers, Music, Refreshments, A Slide Show, Sharing opportunities.

Together, we honour Caleb’s life, his laughter, and the impact he had on all of us.

The Corroboree Tree – Heart of Corroboree Park

At the centre of Corroboree Park stands the heritage-listed Corroboree Tree, a living witness to thousands of years of history.

This magnificent tree is believed to be a remnant of the original landscape, long predating European settlement, and is connected to the cultural traditions of the Ngunnawal people, the Traditional Custodians of the Canberra region.

The tree has long been a gathering place — a place where people came together to meet, to share stories, and to connect with Country.

Its very name, Corroboree, reflects its purpose as a site of ceremony and community. Today, it remains a powerful symbol of continuity, resilience, and belonging.

For generations, families and neighbours have gathered in Corroboree Park to celebrate milestones, share meals, and watch their children grow up beneath the shade of the tree.

It has been the backdrop to countless birthdays, picnics, and local events, including Caleb and Dindi’s 9th and 10th birthday parties.

Holding Caleb’s memorial beneath its branches honours both this history and the future: we come together under the Corroboree Tree to remember, to reflect, and to celebrate the life of a young man who, like the tree, brought people together and left a lasting mark on everyone he touched.
